The name

Plantonic is a combination between the words plant and hydroponics. However, when I first began brainstorming name ideas for this company, I immediately thought of the word platonic, in regards to having a love for plants and treating the process of growing them with care.

The tagline

The tagline grow freely represents Plantonic as a company because we target consumers who want to grow hydroponic plants free of any stress or mess that can often come with traditional gardening techniques. Plantonic allows the user to grow freely with confidence.

The logo

Plantonic's logo is a representation of the growing process a leaf entails. It starts off small, and continuously grows larger while deveoping into a fully grown plant, one leaf at a time. Plantonic also uses a monochromatic green colour scheme to further communicate what the company is about.

The process

Plantonic is a speculative brand that has been developed over the course of four months. To see the full depth of process work that was put into making this 68 page brand book, please click the link below.

Other details

The final size of Plantonic's brand guidelines book measures 8" x 8" and utilizes japanese bamboo paper for the front and back covers to further represent one of Plantonic's core values, being eco-friendly.

To coincide with Plantonic's brand guidelines book, a mockup of the branding site has been made to add a useful, digital component to this project. The prototype was made using InVision, and can be viewed by clicking the link below.
