About

The purpose of Coexist is to make readers think about time differently. Coexist aims to make us realize that you are in control of the ways in which you perceive time, because in all reality, time does not exist in the ways we think it does.

To summarize different thoughts and ideas about time perception, this book was curated and further broken down into subcategories that describe time being related to human psychology and scientific explanations.

Time is related to multiple topics surrounding illusion, manipulation, subjective and objective opinions, memory and emotion, as well as mental illnesses such as depression.

Although time can be used as a management tool, the purpose of Coexist is to make readers think outside the box and realize that time is not only found in tangible products such as clocks and calendars.

Time shouldn’t be thought of so seriously because it will coexist forever. We should all focus on living in the present, not the past and future.

Specs

The final book size of Coexist measures 5" x 8" and utilizes black cardstock for the front and back covers. This book is also perfect bound and was purposely designed in grayscale to further represent time as a topic involving grey areas.

Other details

To coincide with Coexist, I have created an interactive piece to further enhance my topic of time perception by creating a prototype of what I like to call a story time game/app. Through this app, users will have the opportunity to learn more about the current ways in which they perceive time by answering a series of common questions related to daily tasks or experiences.

The purpose of this game is not to win, but to instead obtain a form of self realization that time is highly elastic as we are all constantly living in the present. The live prototype of this game was made using Sketch and InVision, which can be viewed by clicking the link below.

Aside from creating this app, I have also designed a prototype of Coexist's marketing site which provides a brief description of what Coexist is and the different components and categories involved within this project. To view the marketing site and catch a glimpse of what Coexist entails as a whole, please press the link below.
